“Parenting” is a series of drawings capturing the (often awkward and funny) expressions and postures of parents I encounter on a daily basis as a mother of two young children myself. The project consists of 52 drawings - one for each week of a full year. It was started in July 2019 and includes self-portraits made during the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic when I was confined to my home and had little interactions with other parents. The drawings are compiled in an accordion book, hand folded and bound with Suminagashi prints I created for the covers.
