“Down the Rabbit Hole”
2012
Site-specific, interactive sculpture. Wood and wood paint.

“Down the Rabbit Hole” was created for the Knockdown Center’s Outdoor Interactive Recreational Sculpture Garden. It uses the formal quality of text to create a maze like mini golf experience. The piece’s title and the text it displays come from the first chapter of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.” The “O”s in the excerpt have been transformed to confuse the player: while some of them are actual holes, only one of them is the “winning” one. The others are too small, too tall, or bring the ball back to the bottom of the panel.
