“Toidy Toid & Toid” is a collection of New York accents – each represented by an acrylic panel displaying a visualization of the sound and some data about the voice’s owner. The individual accents are also audible upon pressing a switch.“33rd Street and 3rd Avenue”, a difficult intersection to pronounce, has been used in many songs and jokes to exemplify the city’s inflection. This project pays homage to New York’s idiosyncratic yet ever-evolving accent(s).
